Queensbury High School Legacy Video 2020

It’s throwback Thursday! During my senior year of high school, I was asked to help be a project manager on the Queensbury High School Legacy Video 2020, and I wanted to share a little bit about my involvement in the project.

In high school, I was a part of a program called ECCA, or Early College Career Academy. Through the program, I gained access to a MacBook Pro and DSLR camera to use throughout the school year at no cost. At my high school, I was frequently involved in videography and digital media arts courses. During the beginning of my senior year, I was personally asked by the Videography teacher, Mrs. Sally Vartuli, if I could help manage and produce a video for the administration that would showcase the re-model of our high school.

I got to work immediately, together Sally and I recruited an awesome group of students to be a part of our team. We established what we wanted out of the video as well as met with the administration to see what they expected out of the finished product. We made sure to gather many resources including, photographs, VR videos, video before, during and after construction finished, as well as a few after effects templates. We had about 2-3 film days in which about 8 people went about the school filming. We also scheduled meetings for sit-down interviews with teachers asking them what they thought about the new building. About 4-5 people worked to stitch and edit the final video.

Pleased with the finished product, administration displayed the video on repeat at the high school’s main entrance for almost 2 weeks! It is also available on YouTube and featured below as a YouTube link! Be sure to check out the video as well as like and comment on this post!
